Who is Bobby Treasure

Byron "Bobby" Treasure is a Jamaican songwriter, record producer and singer. He started his music career in Haiti at the age of 8, where he played the viola and then the trumpet at L’Ecole St. Trinite. He later joined the youth orchestra as a trumpet player. On his return to Jamaica in 1985 he joined the Jamaica Regiment Band in 1987 and performed with them until 1992.

Bobby has written and produced for an extensive list of world-renowned Reggae artistes including Freddie McGregor, Gregory Isaacs, Luciano, Anthony B, Toots and the Maytals, Spanner Banner, Jah Mason and Natural Black. His catalogue includes over 200 original songs.

Fluent in his native English as well as French and Creole, Bobby has utilized his foreign language skills and international experience in careers in the hotel industry and the military. Most recently, he served as interpreter in Haiti for the Jamaican Defence Force. Bobby writes and performs in all three languages. In his 1997 tour of 6 cities in Japan, he performed in French in a combination with Papa San. He enjoys reaching out to an international audience through his music.
Bobby will soon be releasing the single, “Sweet Little 16”, which he coproduced with Alex Martin-Blanken. A “Sweet Little 16” music video will also be released.
